The Village Bookstore

The Village Bookstore is a used bookshop known for old and out-of-print books, with children's books taking up the largest share of floor space. Shelves cover Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew mysteries, historical books, biographies, history, science, nature, sports and business, plus Ohio and local history. Owner Ellen Eckhouse opened the store in October 2005 after years of collecting, which began with Louisa May Alcott titles.

Books are the focus, though the shop also sells T-shirts, tote bags, postcards and book plates. If you are looking for a specific title and it is not on the shelves, Ellen will try to find it. Hours can vary, so the store asks visitors traveling from a distance to call ahead. It is on Main Street in Garrettsville.
