IBEW Local 456

IBEW Local 456 is the North Brunswick chapter of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, chartered in 1915. The local supplies skilled electrical workers to contractors for inside wireman and outside commercial work, including outside utility work on public power and gas company property and on railroads. It also runs an apprenticeship program and administers member benefits.

Contractors who need manpower can call the local for crews, and the local works closely with the Northern New Jersey chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association. Apprenticeship questions are handled separately from general inquiries. The local's jurisdiction covers all of Middlesex County and part of Somerset County.
