Blue Jacket Inc.

Blue Jacket Inc. is a Fort Wayne nonprofit that trains and hires adults facing barriers to employment, including people with criminal records, limited education, or disabilities. Its Career Academy, staffing arm and social enterprises give people a path to steady work. Known around town for the Tall Rabbit Cafe + Community, a coffee shop serving espresso-based drinks, and Blue Jacket Clothing Co., which sells professional clothing at discounted prices.

The cafe doubles as a transitional workplace for people in the program, and its meeting and gathering spaces can be booked for room rentals online. Clothing store proceeds go back to the mission. The clothing store is in the Coldwater Crossing Shopping Plaza, and the main Blue Jacket office is on Calhoun Street. The organization is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and also sells gift cards.
