Edison Festival of Light

Edison Festival of Light has celebrated Thomas Edison in Southwest Florida for more than 89 years, with lights, music and tradition at the center of each event. The highlight is one of the region's largest parades, held each February with a Junior Parade for younger families earlier in the month and a Grand Parade in the evening. The festival also hosts a Battle of the Bands.

Parade floats and units must be brightly lit and follow an Edison theme, and the family-friendly rules ban alcohol, drones on the route and throwing items from floats. Entries need liability insurance and can be subject to city and county fire inspections. Volunteers, sponsors and parade entrants can sign up through the festival, and the festival is based in Fort Myers.
