River Hops Brewinig

River Hops Brewing is an independent brewery and taproom in downtown Fort Dodge, known for styles that range from easy-drinking light lagers to barrel-aged porters. The taproom pours 15 beers on tap, with more available in cans, along with non-alcoholic drinks and locally produced wines and meads. The brewery also makes personalized labels for weddings, showers and other celebrations, and can add custom souvenir glasses for guests.

The building dates to the 1950s and was once a radio station, and much of its interior uses reclaimed local materials, including brick from a hydroelectric dam and beams from a farmstead near Barnum. Tables near the front windows look out over a green space across Central Avenue. Evening hours run later on Fridays and Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays are set aside for private and special events, and the taproom does not accept tips.
