The City of Fargo

The City of Fargo's Solid Waste division manages waste collection, disposal and recycling across the city, for both public and private haulers, and runs the city landfill. Its services include residential and commercial garbage and recycling, roll-off collection, compost and yard waste, and household hazardous waste.

Residents with large items can use the Residential Transfer Station at the Fargo Landfill at no charge. It takes cardboard, automotive batteries, metal objects, household garbage and all-in-one recycling, plus up to two non-freon appliances a month. Appliances with freon are not accepted, and commercial waste and building materials are turned away. Visitors need a current utility bill from the address where the debris came from, dated within six months, and an attendant is on hand to help sort items into the right bins.
