The Learning Paws Academy

The Learning Paws Academy is a dog training business run by Remy Mills, a certified trainer who works with puppies, first-time owners, high-energy dogs and dogs with reactivity or anxiety concerns. Programs are built around the owner's lifestyle and goals, with a reward-based approach and a focus on real-life situations like leash walking, recall and calm behavior around guests.

Training happens in your home or at a local park, and every program starts with an initial evaluation to decide what fits your dog. Packages of 4, 6 or 8 sessions are available, along with individual sessions, and sessions must be used within 3 to 6 months. The business is based in West Caldwell and serves a wide area of the West Essex region, including Montclair, Verona, Livingston and Chatham. Remy also works with children on safe, positive interactions with dogs, including jumping, mouthing and nipping.
