Uyghur American Association

The Uyghur American Association is a non-partisan organization founded in 1998 to promote and preserve Uyghur culture and to support the right of Uyghur people to use peaceful, democratic means to shape their own political futures. Its public work includes press statements, reports and a blog on Uyghur human rights, along with community events.

The association runs membership and accepts donations, and it holds its general elections and committee meetings for the community at the Uyghur Center in Fairfax, Virginia. A newsletter sends out press releases and event updates. The office is on Waples Mill Road in Fairfax, and questions can go through its contact form or by email.
