My Friends Pediatric Day Healthcare Center

My Friends Pediatric Day Healthcare Center provides nursing care for medically fragile children and children with chronic health conditions and special needs, in a daycare setting. Licensed RNs and LVNs follow each child's physician-ordered plan of care, while trained personal care attendants handle non-nursing needs. Nursing services include tube feedings, tracheostomy care and suctioning, medication administration and respiratory treatments.

Families often use the center as an alternative to home nursing, or to supplement home care. Children can attend on a regular basis or as needed, including weekday, weekend and after-school care, since the center is open seven days a week except major holidays. Activity leaders plan themed indoor and outdoor activities that children can join at their own ability level. Attendance is funded through MediCal, Regional Centers or private pay, and families can call to speak with a nurse about whether a child may qualify. The center is in Orangevale.
