Prevention Science Institute is a multidisciplinary research institute at the University of Oregon that studies human development and works to prevent behavioral health problems. Its research ranges from basic work on intervention targets to neuroscience of brain and behavior, and it studies effective intervention programs and how to bring them into schools and communities. The institute also houses the ACCESS Center, a national resource for school-based mental health research.
Much of the institute's work involves putting proven interventions into real-world settings, and it offers multiple graduate training opportunities in prevention science. Its news posts cover topics such as chronic school absenteeism and four-day school weeks. The institute is based in Eugene.
