Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation

The Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation is a labor union for graduate employees at the University of Oregon, including teaching fellows and research assistants. Founded in 1975, it is local 3544 of the American Federation of Teachers, and it has bargained contracts covering pay, workload limits, grievance procedures and health insurance.

The union handles collective bargaining, contract enforcement and member questions about health insurance, dependent coverage and benefits, and it runs a strike fund that accepts donations. Membership is open to graduate employees at the university. The office is in Eugene, and its weekday office hours are listed on the contact page.
