Montessori classrooms for young children in a restored farmhouse8 Jericho Road, Essex Junction, VT
Green Mountain Montessori follows the teaching philosophy of Maria Montessori in multi-aged classrooms, where children work alone or in small groups with shared materials. The school emphasizes cooperation, with older children sometimes helping younger ones, so students learn respect for each other and how a community works.
The school is accepting students through open enrollment, and families can arrange an in-person or virtual tour before applying. A before and after school program is also offered. The school is housed in a restored 1820s brick farmhouse in Essex Town, with large sunny windows and wide-board spruce floors.
