Meyer's Elgin Sausage

Meyer's Elgin Sausage makes smoked sausage and smoked meats using a family recipe brought from Germany, with roots going back to the late 1800s. The sausage company is known for its coarse-ground original Texas sausage, along with beef, hot, garlic, and jalapeño and cheese varieties. A separate barbecue restaurant, Meyer's Elgin Smokehouse, serves slow-smoked meats, beans, and desserts.

The sausage company's wholesale business is its largest part, and it ships nationwide after becoming a federally inspected plant in 2002.
