Pet Prescription Team

Pet Prescription Team is a volunteer-run, nonprofit certified therapy dog organization. Its volunteers and their dogs visit hospitals, assisted living and rehab facilities, hospice programs, libraries, schools, special needs homes, and jail and juvenile correctional facilities across Los Angeles County, as well as other sites.

The group also runs therapy dog training classes in Los Angeles and San Diego counties. New volunteers and their dogs complete an eight-week course held inside a facility, which covers handling people and unexpected situations during visits. The team was founded by Krystal Emery in 2003 and is supported by donations. Its address is on Dehesa Road in El Cajon.
