UMass Cranberry Station

The UMass Cranberry Station is a research and extension station of the Center for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment at UMass Amherst, focused on cranberry growing. Its specialists work in plant pathology, entomology, environmental physiology, plant nutrition and cultural practices, weed science and integrated pest management, and floriculture. The station's stated mission is to keep Massachusetts cranberry growing economically viable through research and outreach.

The station publishes weekly pest management messages during the growing season, along with weather summaries, growing degree day figures, and keeping quality forecasts for the crop. Growers who need specific rates or timings are directed to call and speak with an Extension Specialist. The station is located at State Bog in East Wareham.
