Ima serves ramen, udon and yaki udon noodles alongside rice bowls and hot karaage, and its menu includes a large vegan and vegetarian section that is clearly labeled. Weekday afternoons bring a $5 happy hour on food and drinks, available to dine-in guests only.

Reservations aren't taken, so guests walk in and are seated, and takeout and delivery can be ordered online. Parking on site is free. Gluten-free dishes are labeled and the kitchen has a dedicated gluten-free fryer, though it is not a gluten-free kitchen, so guests should tell a manager about dietary needs on arrival. Ima Catering handles groups from 10 to more than 150 across Metro Detroit. The restaurant is not halal; its sister concept SuperCrisp in Midtown is.
