Angell and Phelps Chocolate Factory

Angell and Phelps has been handcrafting chocolates and candies since 1925. The shop is known for creams, buttery caramels and perfectly tempered chocolate pieces, with boxed chocolates, sugar-free selections, chocolate-covered treats, souvenirs and gifts also on offer. Each batch is made by hand, and the recipes have stayed largely the same across generations of customers.

Visitors can watch the chocolate-making through viewing windows on a self-guided walk-through, though guided factory tours are no longer offered. The shop on South Beach Street is open most days, with shorter hours on Sunday, and it sells gift certificates. Orders can be placed through the online shop, but shipping is limited in hot weather, when packages go out only Monday through Wednesday.
