Scratching Post Cat Hospital and Retreat

Scratching Post Cat Hospital and Retreat is a veterinary practice that sees only cats. Its services include wellness exams, dental cleanings under anesthesia, diagnostics with an on-site laboratory and imaging, surgery, and cat grooming. The practice is family-owned and was founded in 2002 by Dr. Andrew Summers, with Dr. Sara Wells becoming owner in 2023.

Visits are booked as longer appointments so the veterinarians can do a thorough exam at a calm, unhurried pace. Overnight boarding is available for established clients who have had an exam within the past year and are current on vaccines, and drop-off is on weekdays. Complex operations are referred to board-certified veterinary surgeons. The clinic is at 133 West Franklin Street in Centerville.
