Programs and support for children in difficult circumstances128 West 1st Street, Dayton, OH
For Love of Children (FLOC) is a volunteer-run nonprofit that serves children who have experienced abuse, neglect, foster care, homelessness, or other difficult circumstances. Its programs include the Betsy Hoobler Skill Center with tutoring, arts and crafts, a book nook, and music lessons, along with cooking classes, school supply drives, holiday gifts, prom attire, and meal bags. The organization says it serves more than 12,000 children a year across the Miami Valley.
FLOC runs most of its activities from FLOC on FIVE, a fifth-floor space in downtown Dayton that is open Monday and Thursday afternoons. Visitors and volunteers are asked to park in the Talbott Tower garage and check in with the valet at the front desk. Volunteers and donors are welcome, and the Christmas for Kids program serves children through referring organizations rather than individual families.
