Nielsen's Florist & Garden Center

Nielsen's Florist & Garden Center is a florist and garden center on Post Road in Darien, known for fresh flowers, seasonal plants and custom botanical designs for weddings, events and corporate accounts. The shop has a retail floor and garden center, and its designers work one-on-one with customers on arrangements, outdoor landscapes and autumn and holiday decor.

Founded in 1944 by Hilda and Christian Nielsen, the business is still family-owned and run by their granddaughter, Sandra Nielsen-Baumann. Gift cards are available, and the shop hosts in-person workshops and classes. It is closed on Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and customers are asked to order at least a day ahead for major holidays like Mother's Day.
