Special education advocacy for families navigating public schoolsDanville, CA

Special Education Advocacy Group provides advocacy for families of children with disabilities who are navigating public schools. Its advocates help with IEPs and 504 plans, evaluations, accommodations, goal writing, service requests, behavior and discipline matters, and disputes with schools. Founder Laura Kimpton is a former special education teacher and program supervisor who also raised children with learning disabilities, and she brings that background to meetings with school teams.
Support can be as light as a single piece of advice or as full as attending school meetings alongside the family. Services are scoped to each family with an agreed estimate, and clients can change the level of help at any time. Families often start with a review of paperwork and a meeting to go over history and concerns. The group serves families across the San Francisco Bay Area, including Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Orinda, San Ramon Valley and the Tri-Valley.
