Spinnaker Sailing

Spinnaker Sailing is a sailing school and charter company based at South Beach Harbor on San Francisco Bay. It teaches ASA-certified sailing courses, from basic keelboat classes up to coastal navigation, and also runs skippered and bareboat charters, a sailing club, and private events aboard its fleet of 22- to 50-foot yachts. The company was founded in 1978 in Redwood City and has operated its San Francisco division since the late 1980s.

Basic keelboat classes are capped at two students per instructor, and the company offers free consultations for anyone deciding on lessons, club membership or a charter. Boats can be seen on a demo sail by calling the office. The marina sits at Pier 40, just south of the Bay Bridge beside Oracle Park, and parking is in nearby pay lots and metered spots. Expect heavy traffic on Giants game days.
