About Pipe Trades Technologies

The story

Pipe Trades Technologies is a training school for plumbers and gasfitters. It is best known for backflow prevention and cross-connection control courses, including first-time certification, recertification, and ASSE backflow tester certification. The school also offers Maryland gasfitter training, preparation for the state journeyman or master plumber and gasfitter exams, and 2 PSIG interior gas pressure system training.

Classes combine classroom instruction with hands-on and on-site work, and class sizes are kept small so students get individual attention. Courses are approved for Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and the WSSC service area. The Crownsville training facility is hosted at the Herald Harbor Community Center, and other training locations are in Bel Air, Halethorpe, Rockville, Salisbury, and Hagerstown.
