Akin Building & Design Center

Akin Building & Design Center is a building materials supplier that has served southwest Iowa since 1927, with stores in Corning, Clarinda, Atlantic and Creston. The stores stock lumber, tools, hardware, paint and building materials, and the design team helps with kitchen, bath and interior projects, including cabinets, countertops and tile. Contractors and homeowners both shop here for materials.

Project estimators will build a materials list for a job, whether it is a new home or a backyard deck, and design consultants work from showroom displays. Customers can check stock at any store and order online for same-day pickup, or have items shipped free to the nearest location. Delivery to a home or job site is available by talking with the sales team, and the Creston and Atlantic stores rent tools such as saws, trenchers and power washers. The Corning store is at the Davis Avenue location in Corning, Iowa.
