Honest Abe Log Homes

Honest Abe Log Homes builds custom log and timber frame homes, and its Cookeville location serves as a model home and sales office where visitors can walk through a three-bedroom D-Log home. The model home, completed in July 2000 on the Bellewood floor plan, has more than 3,215 square feet with a 52-foot front porch, a heavy timber roof system and random-width southern yellow pine floors on the first level. A kitchen with hickory cabinets and a Thermodore range is also on display.

Visits are by appointment and during weekday business hours, and sales consultant Greg Watson can arrange a tour of the model home or the log manufacturing plant. The company also schedules log raisings and home tours through the year. The model home is on Highway 111 North just past Algood, about six miles off I-40 at exit 288.
