SED Design Studio Landscape Architecture

SED Design is a landscape architecture and garden design firm that has pioneered sustainable and ecological landscaping. Its work runs from public and community spaces such as green roofs, civic spaces and stormwater solutions to private gardens, poolscapes and outdoor living areas, plus outdoor classrooms and campus planning for schools. Services include planting design, stream restoration, bioswales, wetlands, woodland and meadow management, and stormwater design, along with construction documents and topographic surveys.

The firm works through a site evaluation that studies environmental conditions, cultural and historical context, and how the space will be used before any design begins. Its principals include founder Edgar David, a landscape architect who taught at Temple University, and Joy Compher, a landscape architect with more than 20 years in practice. The studio is at Penllyn Blue Bell Pike in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, and offers presentations on its services to groups that ask.
