New Hampshire Legal Assistance

New Hampshire Legal Assistance is a nonprofit law firm that provides free civil legal aid across the state. Its work centers on housing, including eviction, foreclosure and property tax deeding cases; domestic violence and family law, such as protective orders, divorce and parenting rights; and public benefits, including disability and unemployment. The firm also takes on major litigation and advocates for public policy that affects people with low income.

Legal aid is aimed at people with low income and limited assets, and adults age 60 and over are also served. Applications go through 603 Legal Aid, the statewide intake system, which can be reached by phone or online. Criminal cases are referred to the NH Public Defender. Staff can speak Spanish. The Concord office is moving to a new location in October 2026, and it will be open to the public there starting October 19, 2026.
