Hand-dyed yarn inspired by Ohio and Midwest quirks1530 S High Street, Columbus, OH

Dye Mad Yarns is a yarn dyer and shop known for hand-dyed colorways inspired by Ohio and the Midwest, from cryptids and foraged plants to local slang, landmarks and politics. The line includes sock and fingering yarns, with collections such as Cryptid, Great Lakes, Weird Ohio and Harvest. The company started in a home kitchen in 2020 and now runs a storefront with a team of four.
The shop is at 1530 S High Street in the Merion Village area of Columbus, and it moved there in 2024 from its original downtown location. It is open most days with shorter hours on Sundays and Mondays, and it is closed on Tuesdays. Owners also offer one-on-one visits by appointment outside regular hours, and the shop carries notions and patterns alongside its yarn.
