Distillery 291

Distillery 291 is a small batch whiskey distillery on the north side of Colorado Springs, making Colorado whiskeys by hand in a copper pot still. Its flagship is a rye whiskey made from rye malt and sour mash, aged in deep char American white oak barrels and finished with toasted aspen staves. The distillery has earned many awards, including a World's Best Rye honor and a 2022 American Craft Producer of the Year title.

Visitors can book a tour or tasting, or stop by the tasting room, which is open afternoons and evenings every day of the week. The distillery also offers a private barrel program where customers pick out a barrel of their own, and it sells bottles and cocktail-making ideas for home. The distillery sits at the foothills of the Rockies, in the shadow of Cheyenne Mountain and Pikes Peak.
