Atlas Jewelry Services

Atlas Jewelry Services is a concierge jewelry practice run by jeweler Jeff Maurer, who has worked in the trade for nearly 30 years and has been a jewelry appraiser for the last 17. Insurance is the most common reason for an appraisal, though appraisals are also done for estate and equitable distribution purposes. The business also buys gold, silver, platinum and diamond jewelry, including broken pieces and designer work, and can design a custom piece around a loose diamond.

Everything is handled by appointment in a private office suite rather than at a showroom counter, so customers sit down with Jeff face to face for consultations, design and purchases. Appraisals are usually printed at the end of the visit, though larger collections or extra research can add about a week. The office is in Colleyville, Texas, and the setup suits customers who can take their time, since there is less stock for quick buy-it-now purchases.
