King's Home

King's Home is a Christ-centered nonprofit that provides long-term residential housing, life skills and counseling for abused youth, women and mothers with children escaping domestic violence and homelessness. Its programs include a youth program for ages 12 to 21 and a women and children's program, along with support programs such as equine therapy at King's Home Stables, a garden, handmade pottery, two thrift stores and a retail store called King's Home Collections.

Residents stay in group homes on several campuses in Alabama, and the youth program typically runs nine to 12 months. The organization accepts donated goods at its thrift stores and drop-off bins across Birmingham, and thrift pickups can be scheduled. Donations and volunteering are the main ways neighbors take part.
