Goodwill of the Heartland

Goodwill of the Heartland is a nonprofit serving southeast Iowa and west-central Illinois, running retail stores and an outlet where shoppers buy donated goods. The Cedar Rapids Goodwill Outlet sells general merchandise by the pound at $1.69 per pound, books for 25 cents each or 50 cents for hardcovers, and furniture at its marked price. The outlet is cash and carry, and all sales are final.

Shoppers must wear gloves, and children must be supervised at all times. The outlet does not accept donations, which go to the other Goodwill stores instead. The organization also runs job training, human services and business employment programs out of its offices, including a headquarters on 6th Street SW in Cedar Rapids.
