Noroc Restaurant

Noroc is an East European restaurant serving Moldovan-style home cooking, with recipes that the owners say come from family cooks going back generations. The menu draws on the mix of eastern and western influences in Moldovan food, and the restaurant also hosts private events, concerts and catering. Its borscht recipe has been featured in a Sacramento cookbook, and the chef, Maria Savchuk, leads the kitchen and designs the monthly specials.

The restaurant is on Manzanita Avenue in Carmichael and is open Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday hours and Monday closed. Custom wedding packages are offered, and reservations are taken by the restaurant. The room is set up for a relaxed, elegant evening out, and it is a good fit for a group dinner or a special occasion.
