Purrmaid Cafe and Adoption Center

Purrmaid Cafe and Adoption Center is a cat cafe where visitors can spend time with a dozen or so resident cats in a room full of toys, scratching posts and soft beds. The cats are rescues awaiting adoption, and the cafe is run as a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that opened in 2019 to give homeless cats a calmer alternative to shelter life. Visitors can order coffee, water or a snack while they visit.

Visits cost $6 per person per half hour and reservations are strongly recommended, since space in the cat room is limited and walk-ins are not guaranteed a spot. Children 7 and older are welcome, with anyone under 13 needing an adult along, and all visitors sign a waiver on file. Adoptions are $150 and require an application, adoption contract and home check. The cafe is on Santa Rosa Road in Camarillo.
