The Wise Fool

The Wise Fool serves Middle Eastern street food, with shawarma at the center of the menu. Shawarma comes wrapped in laffa flatbread or over rice, and the kitchen also makes falafel, hummus, fattoush salad and triple-cooked fries seasoned with a house spice blend. A bar pours beer and highballs alongside the food.

It is a casual neighborhood spot in Burlington's Old North End on the corner of North Street and North Winooski Avenue, open for dinner and late nights, with weekend lunch added. There are no reservations, so seating is first come, first served at the bar, a communal table or the counter. Takeout and online ordering are available, and the fryer is always gluten free. Street parking is free and plentiful nearby. Private events and catering are arranged by email.
