Velvet 48

Velvet 48 is a wine bar in downtown Burlingame run by Jason Cooper, a wine industry veteran of about twenty years. The bar pours over 40 wines by the glass and keeps around 800 bottles, along with a cultivated beer selection and a menu of savory and sweet small plates. Tastings are often paired with chocolate and charcuterie boards, and the list runs from everyday bottles to rare collector wines.

Reservations can be made online, and the bar also hosts private parties, wine tastings and events, and sells gift cards and a wine club. Bottles bought to go get 25% off, and guests under 21 are not allowed on the premises, including infants. The bar is at 310 Lorton Avenue in Burlingame.
