Volunteer nonprofit supporting the Millbrae Library1 Library Avenue, Millbrae, CA
The Friends of the Millbrae Library is a nonprofit, member-supported group of volunteers that raises money and provides support for the Millbrae Library. Founded in 1976, the Friends help fund new library services and technologies, programs and events such as the Annual Open House, the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Summer Learning Program, and physical improvements to the building. Volunteers also run an adult book discussion group and a monthly lecture series in Mandarin.
The group runs a bookstore inside the library that is open during all library hours, with special sales a few times a year. Donations of money, books, and time are welcome, and people can join as members or apply to serve on the board. Friends of the library are based at 1 Library Avenue in Millbrae.
