Compassion Place Ministries

Compassion Place Ministries is a Christian nonprofit that provides food, clothing and other physical necessities alongside spiritual support. It runs seven Compassion Centers across Maryland, and individuals and families come to them daily for help. The ministry is a 501(c)(3) and a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church\u2014Missouri Synod, and its work is tied to the Lutheran Mission Society of Maryland.

The Baltimore center at 601 Hammonds Lane takes donations of furniture and other heavy items by appointment only. Donation drop-offs are accepted on weekdays, and the center is open Monday through Friday. Donations of food, clothing and household goods are accepted at several other centers, and staff ask people to call ahead before bringing items to some locations.
