Simons Theatre

The New England Aquarium is a nonprofit research and conservation organization that has been on Central Wharf since 1969. Its exhibits include a giant ocean tank, a penguin colony, sharks and rays, a touch tank, an Amazon rainforest, and a coral reef display. The harbor seals are temporarily off exhibit while their habitat is improved. The Simons Theatre shows 3D films on a screen nearly five stories high.

Tickets are sold online, and combo tickets pair aquarium admission with a Simons Theatre film. The theater can also be rented for private events, including movie parties on the giant screen, and the aquarium hosts group visits and tours. Weekend hours run later than weekday hours, and the aquarium sits on the Boston waterfront.
