Toys, games and educational supplies for teachers and families1224 Towanda Ave #25, Bloomington, IL
The School Shop is a family-owned toy, game and educational supply store that has served teachers and families for decades. It stocks hands-on learning games, STEAM-focused toys and puzzles, and classroom materials, with a selection that has been expanding to include special needs items, foreign language products, home school resources, arts and crafts, and books. Teachers on the staff help customers find classroom supplies, decorations and learning tools.
The store offers personal shopping, free gift wrapping on purchases, gift certificates in any amount, and in-store lamination for items up to 25 inches wide. Customers in the Bloomington area visit in person at 1224 Towanda Ave, and the owners say people also drive in from across Illinois. The shop is run by Charmaine and John Ringer, who bought it in 2017, and it supports local schools and fundraising events.
