Northbrook Behavioral Health Hospital

Northbrook Behavioral Health Hospital is a freestanding psychiatric hospital that treats behavioral health conditions only. Its care covers high-acuity psychiatric conditions, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and patients with significant medical co-morbidities. Its adjunctive therapy department brings music, art, recreation, chaplaincy, and counseling into treatment, with 20 full-time adjunct therapists.

The hospital is in Blackwood, New Jersey, and takes patients from across the state. It is affiliated with Cooper Medical School of Rowan University as a teaching site for medical students and psychiatry residents. Family visits are arranged by appointment, through the visitation phone line or through a patient's social worker. Each patient is assigned a social worker and leaves with a discharge plan and a follow-up appointment within 7 days.
