The story

Fight Syndicate teaches mixed martial arts, boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu and wrestling, with classes for kids, teens and adults. The gym's core program is MMA, which blends striking and grappling into a full-body workout that also teaches self-defense. Youth and competition fight teams train amateur and professional fighters.

The Big Bear Lake gym is one of several Fight Syndicate locations, with another in Murrieta and one in Mexico. Kids' classes focus on self-defense and fitness in a fun, safe setting. A waiver can be signed online, and members can use the gym's app. Owner Beau King oversees the gym, which has more than a decade of training experience.
