Village Garage Distillery

Village Garage Distillery makes craft whiskey, vodka and gin in a former tractor dealership and town highway garage on Depot Street in downtown Bennington. Its best-known product is Bonfire smoked maple bourbon, which blends bourbon with Vermont maple syrup. The lineup also includes Village Rye, a straight bourbon, a vodka, and Village House Gin, and the gin and bourbon won medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The distillery offers tastings, and questions about products or visits can go to its info email or phone line. Bottles can be bought online, and orders of $100 or more ship free. Vermont Republic Rye, a barrel-strength rye made from local grains, is sold at 802Spirits stores across Vermont. Pearl's at the Garage, a barbecue and cocktail restaurant, operates inside the distillery on Thursday through Monday evenings.
