Headwaters Veterinary Center

Headwaters Veterinary Center is a small animal practice in Bemidji that cares for dogs, cats and other pets. Dr. Tom Rietveld started the clinic in 2007 as a small animal practice in what had been his family's home, and the team now includes several veterinarians and licensed technicians. The clinic also runs a 24-hour online pharmacy for prescription and other pet medications.

Clients often mention the staff's patience and how much time the doctors spend listening to concerns, including during hard days like end-of-life visits. Pharmacy orders are delivered to the door at no charge, and the clinic is open weekdays with shorter hours on Friday. Headwaters serves the Bemidji area and draws some clients who drive two hours or more to visit.
