Winemakers of Somerset

Winemakers of Somerset is a hands-on winery where members make their own wine from fresh grapes, guided through a four-step process with professional equipment. Over 35 varietals and blends are offered, including reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir, and whites such as Albarino, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Grapes come from California, Oregon, Washington and South America, depending on the season.

The winemaking runs about ten months with at least four working sessions, and members can pick barrel size from a quarter share to a full barrel. First-time tasting visits carry a $25 fee, and tastings are offered on set Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, so text ahead to let them know you are coming. The shop also hosts social and corporate events. It is located at 2 Ilene Court in Hillsborough, NJ.
