Pioneer Pet Care

Pioneer Pet Care is a family-run boarding kennel and dog grooming business that has cared for pets in Hillsborough for more than 30 years. The owners are a husband and wife team with degrees in animal science and nursing, and they give each guest one-on-one attention. Cats and exotic pets have separate accommodations from the dogs.

The facility is air-conditioned and heated, with indoor and outdoor runs and a focus on sanitation and airflow. Pickup and drop-off happen during posted business hours, and Sunday drop-off has a single set time, so ask before you go. Tours are available, which is a good way to see the facility and meet the owners before booking. Past clients often mention the staff's patience with reactive and special-needs dogs.
