JACE HANDYMAN SERVICES

JACE Handyman Services is a small home maintenance and repair company that takes on the smaller jobs a general contractor would not bother with. Typical work includes installing ceiling fans, mounting TVs, assembling furniture, repairing drywall and installing grab bars, and the company is set up to handle several items on a to-do list in one visit. The owner, Chris Emerson, runs the business as a local, fully insured operation that aims to leave the space clean when the work is done.

Estimates are free and based on photos, so it helps to send pictures of the area, the item and any materials already bought, plus measurements for furniture. A consultation can also be scheduled in person for a fee of $85, which is credited toward the project. Jobs are priced by the job rather than by the hour, with a $150 minimum, and customers do not need to be home during the work. Commercial and property management clients pay a 50% deposit on approval.
