Salt7even Float Center

Salt7even Float Center offers float tank sessions, where you lie in a warm, dense solution of Epsom salt in silence and darkness for about an hour. Owner Shaun Tidwell opened the center in 2015 and runs it himself. Floating is used for deep rest, stress relief, sleep and recovery, and some people use it alongside meditation or as part of PTSD and anxiety care.

Each float takes place in a private chamber room with its own shower and tank, and the center monitors water quality and controls climate from an iPad. Sessions are by appointment only, and the center sells gift cards, memberships and packages. It sits across from the Fox Theater on 20th Street in Bakersfield, within walking distance of the Padre.
