Roots, rockabilly and blues every night since 19551315 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX

The Continental Club is one of Austin's longest-running live music rooms. It opened in 1955 as a swanky supper club on South Congress and now books roots rock, rockabilly, country, swing and blues most nights of the week. The neon sign above the entrance and the hot rods parked along the avenue make it a South Congress landmark, and past stages have hosted everyone from Stevie Ray Vaughan to Junior Brown.
The room is dimly lit and intimate, so shows feel close to the band. Above the club, the Continental Gallery hosts jazz, soul, R&B and singer-songwriter nights around a Hammond B-3 organ. A second location, Continental Club Houston, has been on Main Street since 2000, and Shoeshine Charley's Big Top Lounge sits on the same stretch of Main.
