Friends Bar

Friends Bar is a live music bar on East Sixth Street in downtown Austin, featuring jazz, Texas blues, R&B, rock, country, soul and Americana most nights of the week. The menu leans Texas, with brisket tacos, fish tacos, texas poutine with green chili queso, hush puppies and grilled cheese with tomato basil soup.

There is no cover charge for the music. The bar is within walking distance of most downtown hotels and draws locals as well as visitors during SXSW and Austin City Limits. Friends sits at Sixth and Brazos, and on Friday and Saturday nights the street is closed to cars, so the walk over is easy.
